Frankie Dettori
Frankie Dettori is one of the most charismatic figures within the environment of modern horseracing. Encouraged by his father (who was an Italian Champion Jockey), Dettori left school and began his rise to fame as a stable boy. A jockey apprenticeship with the Italian trainer Luca Cumani followed and in 1986 he rode his first winner in Turin, aged just sixteen.

Kevin Darley
As the apprentice to Reg Hollinshead, Kevin Darley became champion apprentice just one year after riding his first winner in 1977. Although having not yet collected an English Classic victory, Kevin Darley was Champion Jockey in 2000 and has won ten group one races, including the 1995 Prix du Jockey-Club on Celtic Swing.
